FNB commissioned Sea Monster to help them create a free interactive e-learning platform developed inside the FNB banking app that comprises multimedia content for all FNB customers to learn about entrepreneurship and running a business.

Challenge

Sea Monster created the Fundaba educational programme for FNB. The name comes from the joining of the two isiZulu words, Fundi + Indaba, which translates to Expert + Discussion or the Gathering of Knowledge. These words best describe the aspirations of the product and the impact that FNB hopes to achieve through its use.

The programme consists of 12 modules across four lifecycle stages of a Small and medium-sized enterprise (incubate, start, run and grow) and follows a South African entrepreneur’s journey as he builds his first business – ‘Lebo’s Bakery’. All audio and video content is available in isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sesotho, English and Afrikaans.

This year the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation decided that they wanted to add a gamification element to the challenge and approached Sea Monster to create an application available on iOS and Android as well as a website with some awesome new graphics.
