Think Beyond Today
We all know that water is a precious commodity, and that Cape Town is dealing with a water crisis, but what does that actually mean? What can we as a community do in this situation?
It’s very tempting for us as humans to try and find someone to blame, or expect and rely on government bodies to “sort it out”. When faced with challenges we tend to push responsibility to someone else, or to generally ignore the problem.
But why not look at the water crisis differently?
You, and only you, can decide what kind of human being you are. This is most critical not when times are good, but when times are bad, and there are challenges to face. It’s easy to be generous when you’re rich, but can you be generous when you’re struggling?
Most of South Africa’s citizens (and many around the world) have had to make a plan about getting water their whole lives. Now it is clear and present danger for all of us. We’ve got an opportunity to think about water differently, and decide what type of people we’re going to be.
We all form part of the water cycle. Make sure your contribution is a positive one.
